Consistently, states across the country are seeing the positive results from mandatory ignition interlock laws for first-time offenders, causing lawmakers to address lax policies when it comes to drunk drivers in their states. Daily Journal reports that the state of Delaware is another state that is pushing legislature that will focus on mandatory ignition interlock installations for all first-time DUI offenders. While Delaware already has ignition interlock requirements, the new law would change the minimum blood alcohol concentration (BAC) measurement that defines when an offender must install an ignition interlock device on any vehicles driven from .15 to .08. This reduction will help keep all convicted drunk drivers from driving while intoxicated throughout the state.
