As a milestone in any person’s life, the privilege of driving requires a certain level of understanding and responsibility. We naturally assume that teen driving behaviors will reflect an awareness of the dangers that can occur behind the wheel. However, according to NJ.com, the countless hours taken to instruct and educate our teenagers about driving while distracted or under the influence of alcohol are perhaps only as effective as the same teen driving behaviors they witness with friends. Survey data was recently released about teen driving behaviors that indicates while many teenage drivers understand the underlying dangers of distracted or drunk driving, these teenagers aren’t exactly adhering to the law and guidelines. The admitted teen driving behaviors include “never” driving while under the influence of alcohol, yet, driving after consuming a few drinks of alcohol.
