Underage drinking is always a concern for parents, educators and law enforcement, which is why each state in the U.S. has a “no tolerance” stance for kids who drink before their 21st birthday. It is perhaps these laws that have helped reduce the number of high school students who drink alcohol. Gilmer Mirror reports that a September, 2013, survey by MADD and State Farm shows that 77 percent of those surveyed do not drink alcohol. Citing several reasons for staying sober, these teenagers are well on the way to a healthy lifestyle that keeps everyone safer.
