With rising rates of vehicle accidents attributed to texting, awareness campaigns and legislature are beginning to recognize that alcohol-related accidents are just the beginning for teenagers. NPR reports that a recent study in the Pediatrics journal points to several risky behaviors by teens behind the wheel, including drinking and driving, texting while driving and teens not wearing seat belts. These behaviors can cause life-altering consequences, including death, and parents are cautioned to start open dialogues with their teenagers about these risks.
