After becoming the 17th state to require the installation of an ignition interlock device in the vehicle of DUI offenders, Connecticut is seeing some startling statistics about its drunk drivers, and results from the new law. TheDay.com reports that since the law went into effect, the use of the devices has tripled in the state, and it is hopeful that the results of the law will mirror those seen in states with a similar policy, but the data has not been shown, just yet. While the new law is seeing some issues, it is hopeful that overall, the mandatory installations will continue to keep drunk drivers off the road.
