The men and women in the U.S. armed forces pledge to protect the lives of citizens of our country, and an Alaskan soldier has taken this promise to heart. ArmyTimes reports that Soldiers Against Drunk Driving (SADD) has successfully implemented a designated driver program, with credit going to Spc. Albert Rodrigues, for bearing the coldest temperatures while keeping Alaska’s roads safe. This program not only ensures soldiers stationed at Fort Wainwright are driven home after drinking a few too many, but, also will extend the safe rides home to non-military personnel.
