The state of New Mexico has made a great deal of progress in fighting drunk driving, but, legislators are having a hard time finding support to close a few loopholes in the current DWI laws. According to Las Cruces Sun News, there are several ways that convicted DWI offenders can continue to consume alcohol and drive, making the risk of further drunk driving conviction high, especially considering the rate of recidivism.
