Each Halloween, millions of children are out on the streets in costumes, binging on candy and acting without a care in the world. Like these children, adults are also out on the streets, driving, after binging on alcohol… acting without a care in the world for the safety of others on the roads.
Statistically speaking, Halloween has more than a spooky theme, it can be a fatal night for anyone driving. Almost half of the fatalities on Halloween weekend, 2011, were attributed to a driver with a BAC of .08% or more. As one of the deadliest nights of the year, it is important that we all look out for each other and keep the streets safe. For those hosting Halloween parties, be sure your guests have a designated driver or other safety plan if they are drinking alcohol.
